Leading solar companies address National Solar Conclave in Lucknow

LUCKNOW: Along with the All India Solar Summit-2018 (AISS-2018) one day National Solar Conclave was organized by Indian Industries Association at IIA Bhawan, VIbhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar Lucknow on February 24. The conclave was addressed by the representatives of several Government and non-government organizations such as MNRE, SIDBI, Goldi Green, SuKam, Bosch Energy Germany, Sunled Energy, Punjab National Bank, Regional Institute of Social Entrepreneurship & Renewal Energy Center of Lucknow University.

Hiren Bora, from MNRE, Delhi said that online facility is now available for setting up Rooftop Solar Power Plant for which a website www.solarrooftop.gov.in is operational. “By this online facility the complaints of Non- availability /delay in subsidy will get resolved”, he said.

Bora further added that the Government of India is giving 30% subsidy for Roof Top Solar Plant installed in house hold, institutions and nonprofit NGO’s, however subsidy is not available for commercial & industrial users. “For Commercial & Industrial users setting up of Solar Power Plants in RESCO Model is a good alternative where they not need to make capital investment will get cheaper electricity compare to what they are getting from DISCOM’s. There is no hassle of maintenance for such consumers”, he said.

Vikas Gupta, Director Sunled Energy said that the status of Solar Energy is like a slipping tiger as on date. There are huge possibilities for the Solar Energy Sector to expend in future. As on date compared to world per capita electricity average consumption our consumption in India is one third. This in times to come we are accepted to cross the world average per capita consumption and the sleeping Lion will wake-up and will start roaring.

Regional Head BOSCH Energy Prag Mehra said that Roof top solar plants are being installed from one kilowatt to several megawatt capacity in India. 13 Megawatt Solar rooftop plant has been stalled by an industry in Nasik. Industries in UP will also, be putting up such plants in time to come. It is possible that in time to come Industries will meet all its power requirements from Solar Energy as has been done in Kochin Airport today.
